Tanner gets frustrated when he doesn't color as good as Emma. Which means he gets frustrated a lot with coloring. I have to remind him that Emma has been coloring longer and if he works hard he can do the same things she does. My kids color all the time together and it really touches my heart to listen to Emma explain and help him out. Sometimes he doesn't want her help, but a lot of times he takes her advice to heart. Lately it seems to be working because his drawings are really, really improving. He has more details in his pictures and he can see what he wants to draw in his mind and put it to paper easier. He drew this fire engine racing to the fire with a fireman on board without anyone's help. I'm so proud of him for really working hard to become more of the artist he wants to be!

Some September Doodles
When we went to the ER for Lydia's big fall the nurse gave Tanner this picture. He worked SO HARD on it. I love how well he stayed in the lines. He worked on it the next day too with the blue water. Thankfully they didn't have markers at the hospital. That could have been dangerous :)
Emma learned about the life cycle of the butterfly at school at the beginning of the school year. She came home one day and whipped this bad boy up in a few minutes. I love the caterpillars climbing up the plant and then the crysalis hanging. And I love that she remembered the life cycle so well without any help.
